In a separate study, Bauer et al [26] developed a novel approach to identifying testing disparities by census block groups (CBGs), revealing significant geographical disparities in the context of smaller areas. Further, geographical disparities may not be constant and instead shift over time. For example, from 2019 to 2020, temporal trends in confirmed COVID-19 incidence and mortality differed between the most and least vulnerable counties in the United States [27].
