Patterns of Internet Use in People Diagnosed With Severe Mental Illness: Qualitative Interview Study
Most participants (15/16, 94%) were White British. Most (13/16, 81%) were not employed at the time of the interview. The participants varied in the extent to which they used digital devices and the internet, from limited use to frequent use.
Semistructured interviews were conducted following a topic guide (Multimedia Appendix 1).

Very professional—too professional.

For example, people with lower-incomes in the United States often experience barriers to access to care due in part to gaps in health insurance, and many Black individuals have experienced health care discrimination and worse postoperative care outcomes than White individuals due to structural racism [7-10]. Income inequities persist in access to primary and specialist care in Canada despite universal health care [11,12].

The actors playing the parental roles were selected in line with our interview sample and data [27] and the 2023 UK CF Registry Annual Data Report [63], which indicates only 5.4% of the UK CF population are of non-White or mixed ethnicity. Diversity of representation was considered through the casting of non-White actors to portray HCP roles and variation in the presented family dynamics (eg, inclusion of an older father, regional accents, and a single-parent family).
