A 10% (77/763) sample of news media articles was independently coded by 2 researchers (HS and VP), and the Cohen κ statistic was calculated using the irr package in R Studio v.4.2.3 (Posit) to assess interrater reliability. A value of 10% was chosen by the research teams to ensure that a sufficient subsample was analyzed. The statistical analysis indicated almost perfect agreement between the 2 coders (κ=0.9) [40].
