Patients’ Experiences of a National Patient Portal and Its Usability: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Hagström et al [2] explain that an EHR contains clinical information such as notes from appointments, medication information, and diagnostic information. Patient portals and patients’ access to their EHRs via patient portals have been shown to improve patient self-management [3-6], enhance patient understanding of health information [5], foster patient safety [4], and improve a patient’s relationship with health care professionals (HCPs) [3-8] and their engagement in care processes [9].
