Improving Early Dementia Detection Among Diverse Older Adults With Cognitive Concerns With the 5-Cog Paradigm: Protocol for a Hybrid Effectiveness-Implementation Clinical Trial

It requires individuals to quickly substitute (verbalize) numbers for an array of symbols using a key provided at the top of the page. After a practice run with 7 symbols, individuals are given 90 seconds to correctly name as many items as they can as quickly as they can without making a mistake. The number of correct oral substitutions at the end of 90 seconds is the participant’s score. Individuals who complete the task before the time limit receive a ceiling score of 65.
