Through observations and interviews with children and early childhood education and care (ECEC) staff, Kleppe et al [6] and Sandseter et al [7,8] identified eight categories of risky play: (1) play with great heights, (2) play with high speed, (3) play with dangerous tools, (4) play near dangerous elements, (5) rough-and-tumble play, (6) play where children go exploring alone, (7) play with impact, and (8) vicarious risk.
