To our knowledge, there is no data on the use of ATs in Benin, nor on such indicators, despite the increase in the number of people who are disabled recorded in successive censuses [29]. Thus, understanding the real needs of these individuals per the adequacy of ATs in this country remains a genuine challenge. This research aims to document the literature on this issue by evaluating these indicators among AT users in Benin.

A majority of sub-Saharan national governments are now offering some level of income support for lost wages as a result of the pandemic, though only Gabon and Benin are providing more than 50% of lost salary. In addition, a number of the region’s most populous nations including Nigeria, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and South Africa, are currently offering no wage relief [46].
