Community Versus Facility-Based Services to Improve the Screening of Active Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Cambodia: The ANRS 12384 CAM-C Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial—Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Community Versus Facility-Based Services to Improve the Screening of Active Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Cambodia: The ANRS 12384 CAM-C Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial—Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

These efforts underscore the complexity of the hepatitis epidemic in Cambodia and the multifaceted approach required to address it. The challenges in eliminating hepatitis in Cambodia include not only the provision of medical treatments but also the need for increased public awareness, improved diagnostics, and the integration of hepatitis screening and care into the broader public health infrastructure including communities’ health care workers.

Geospatial Point-of-Care Testing Strategies for COVID-19 Resilience in Resource-Poor Settings: Rural Cambodia Field Study

Physical locations were based on data obtained from web-based open-source mapping software (Cambodia Covid Restrictions Map 2021 Map It KH [33], On The World Map [34]), hardcopy Cambodia and Thailand maps, web resources [National Institute of Public Health, Phnom Penh Post, Khmer Times, digital libraries], and literature searches (Pub Med, Google).

Connecting Female Entertainment Workers in Cambodia to Health Care Services Using mHealth: Economic Evaluation of Mobile Link

Connecting Female Entertainment Workers in Cambodia to Health Care Services Using mHealth: Economic Evaluation of Mobile Link

While a cost-effectiveness threshold has not been empirically measured for Cambodia, several ranges based on the country’s per-capita gross domestic product have been proposed [47-49]. This study used 50% to 100% of Cambodia’s 2019 per-capita gross domestic product as the cost-effectiveness threshold range (US $835-US $1671 per DALY averted) [50].

Ending Tobacco Use Through Interactive Tailored Messaging for Cambodian People With HIV (Project EndIT): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Ending Tobacco Use Through Interactive Tailored Messaging for Cambodian People With HIV (Project EndIT): Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

In Cambodia, for example, national surveys have indicated that 33%-43% of adult men and 3% of adult women smoke cigarettes [3,4]. Thus, the development and evaluation of sustainable tobacco cessation interventions suitable for widespread implementation in Cambodia are pressing public health needs. Certain special populations, such as people with HIV, are confronted with disproportionately high tobacco-related health risks.

Perceptions and Acceptability of Digital Interventions Among Tuberculosis Patients in Cambodia: Qualitative Study of Video-Based Directly Observed Therapy

Perceptions and Acceptability of Digital Interventions Among Tuberculosis Patients in Cambodia: Qualitative Study of Video-Based Directly Observed Therapy

Ultimately, the study aimed specifically to inform the future implementation of an m Health platform to support TB treatment adherence in this population in Cambodia and, more generally, to highlight considerations when planning and developing such an intervention. Our study location, Cambodia, presents a unique opportunity, with a high prevalence of TB, declining TB treatment completion, and increased mobile phone penetration.

Development of an Intervention to Support the Reproductive Health of Cambodian Women Who Seek Medical Abortion: Research Protocol

In Cambodia, abortion has been legally available on request during the first trimester of pregnancy since 1997 [1,2]. Drugs used in medical abortion containing mifepristone and misoprostol were approved in 2010 and made available in a restricted number of health facilities [2,3].

A Mobile Phone–Based Support Intervention to Increase Use of Postabortion Family Planning in Cambodia: Cost-Effectiveness Evaluation

A Mobile Phone–Based Support Intervention to Increase Use of Postabortion Family Planning in Cambodia: Cost-Effectiveness Evaluation

In Cambodia, over the last decade, progress has been made in reducing an unmet need for contraception. This has coincided with a reduction in maternal, infant, and under-5 mortality [3]. Nonetheless, there is a continued unmet need for contraception in Cambodia. The 2014 Cambodia Demographic and Health Survey reported that among married women aged 15-49 years who wanted to delay a pregnancy by more than 2 years or have no further children, only 56% were using contraception [3].

Using Targeted mHealth Messages to Address Hypertension and Diabetes Self-Management in Cambodia: Protocol for a Clustered Randomized Controlled Trial

Using Targeted mHealth Messages to Address Hypertension and Diabetes Self-Management in Cambodia: Protocol for a Clustered Randomized Controlled Trial

In Cambodia, it has been estimated that more than half (52.0%) of the total diabetic population is untreated, and despite treatment, only 24% of all diabetes is adequately controlled [8]. Poverty, inequality, lack of education, along with the nature of the nutritional transition, are root causes of the problem while limited resources mean that noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) must compete for political attention and financial investment.
