In 2018 and 2019, the American Medical Association and Canadian Medical Associations passed the first policy and directive, respectively, on AI applications in health care leading to its rise in recent years [10]. Moreover, this rapid increase in this new technology may prove beneficial for health systems, allowing for a more accessible, efficient, and inexpensive alternative to in-person patient monitoring.

In February 2020, the Canadian version of the WMH-ICS survey initiative was deployed at the University of British Columbia (UBC). This was followed by deployment at Simon Fraser University (SFU; November 2020), Mc Master University (January 2021), and the University of Toronto (Uof T; January 2022). Additional Canadian sites are currently in various stages of assessment and implementation.
