Technology Readiness Level and Self-Reported Health in Recipients of an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator: Cross-Sectional Study

Technology Readiness Level and Self-Reported Health in Recipients of an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator: Cross-Sectional Study

In Denmark, 2000 people were treated with an ICD in 2020 [2]. It is evident that implantation of an ICD with a primary prophylactic indication significantly improves the survival of patients with high-risk cardiovascular conditions who have symptomatic heart failure and a left ejection fraction below 35% [3].

Determinants of Dropping Out of Remote Patient-Reported Outcome–Based Follow-Up Among Patients With Epilepsy: Prospective Cohort Study

Determinants of Dropping Out of Remote Patient-Reported Outcome–Based Follow-Up Among Patients With Epilepsy: Prospective Cohort Study

In 2019, more than 65% of the population in Denmark had one or more chronic conditions [1]. To manage the worldwide development of these chronic conditions, it is crucial that health care resources are being optimally used. The application of telehealth initiatives could be a cost-effective solution for providing high-quality health care [2]. Over the past 50 years, the availability and use of telehealth have expanded and include various tools to manage health care [3].

Developing a Weight-Neutral Health Intervention in Denmark: Protocol for a Co-Design Process

Developing a Weight-Neutral Health Intervention in Denmark: Protocol for a Co-Design Process

In Denmark, health authorities promote weight loss through lifestyle changes for individuals with a BMI>30 kg/m2 and encourage municipal health units to offer weight loss programs to these citizens [1]. Weight loss recommendations in the US begin at a BMI of 25 kg/m2 depending on the presence of co-morbidities [2,3]. However, systematic evaluations find that lifestyle interventions for weight loss are generally ineffective in achieving clinically meaningful long-term reductions in body weight [4-6].

Exploring New Models for Implementing Sustainable Integrated Health Access for People in Vulnerable Positions: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Multiple Case Study

Exploring New Models for Implementing Sustainable Integrated Health Access for People in Vulnerable Positions: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Multiple Case Study

In Denmark, the risk of dying before the age of 65 years is almost 4 times higher for people who leave school after 9 years compared with those who continue with their education [1]. Social inequalities in health can be defined as systematic, avoidable, and unfair differences in health outcomes between social groups in a population [2].

Deprescribing as a Way to Reduce Inappropriate Use of Drugs for Overactive Bladder in Primary Care (DROP): Protocol for a Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial With an Embedded Explanatory Sequential Mixed Methods Study

Deprescribing as a Way to Reduce Inappropriate Use of Drugs for Overactive Bladder in Primary Care (DROP): Protocol for a Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial With an Embedded Explanatory Sequential Mixed Methods Study

The RCT will commence by pairing all general practices within the North Denmark Region, encompassing an estimated population of 0.58 million individuals. The pairing will be determined based on the number of GPs in each practice and their respective urban or rural locations. The matched pairs will be randomized to either intervention or control groups. The randomization for selecting these specific practices will be generated using the web-based tool “Research Randomizer” [23].

Effects of Empagliflozin in Type 2 Diabetes With and Without Chronic Kidney Disease and Nondiabetic Chronic Kidney Disease: Protocol for 3 Crossover Randomized Controlled Trials (SiRENA Project)

Effects of Empagliflozin in Type 2 Diabetes With and Without Chronic Kidney Disease and Nondiabetic Chronic Kidney Disease: Protocol for 3 Crossover Randomized Controlled Trials (SiRENA Project)

Each 4-week treatment period was finalized with 2 examination days: 1 day at The University Clinic in Nephrology and Hypertension, Gødstrup Hospital, Denmark, and 1 day at The Department of Renal Medicine, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. We aimed to keep examination days adjacent, but due to logistic considerations, we allowed for an interval of up to 1 week between examination days in each treatment period.

Development of Quality of Life in Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer Using a Patient Support Smartphone App: Prepost Interventional Study

Development of Quality of Life in Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer Using a Patient Support Smartphone App: Prepost Interventional Study

Each year, 600 adolescents and young adults aged 15-29 years are diagnosed with cancer in Denmark. Further, an increase in young cancer survivors exists due to cancer detection improvement and advanced cancer therapy [1,2]. Adolescents and young adults with cancer and young cancer survivors represent a unique patient group undergoing identity development during the cancer trajectory [3]. They are, therefore, vulnerable to identity and existential concerns.

The Clinical Effectiveness of Blended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Compared With Face-to-Face Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adult Depression: Randomized Controlled Noninferiority Trial

The Clinical Effectiveness of Blended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Compared With Face-to-Face Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adult Depression: Randomized Controlled Noninferiority Trial

In this study we compared directly the clinical effect on adult depression of B-CBT and Ft F-CBT in a randomized, controlled, noninferiority study in parallel groups, recruiting from a routine care i CBT clinic in the Region of Southern Denmark. The primary aim of this study was to compare the clinical effectiveness of B-CBT for major depressive disorder in adults with treatment as usual (TAU) defined as 12 sessions of Ft F-CBT.
