Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) involves inflammation of the respiratory mucosa from the nose to the lower respiratory tract; it causes localized symptoms that constitute several overlapping syndromes: pharyngitis, common cold, sinusitis, and bronchitis [1]. Bacterial or viral infections may be the cause of URTI, but antibiotics are recommended only for the former [1]. It is a self-limiting viral infection [2].
