Personality Types of Medical Students in Terms of Their Choice of Medical Specialty: Cross-Sectional Study

The above results suggest that considering these career choice theories, choosing a medical specialty according to one’s personality type might lead to greater job satisfaction. Existing research has demonstrated the applicability of vocational theories to the medical field. A study by Petrides and Mc Manus [4] discovered strong similarities between Holland’s general career typology and the structure of medical careers, implying that the two frameworks are homologous.

Developing a Text Messaging Intervention to Prevent Binge and Heavy Drinking in a Military Population: Mixed Methods Development Study

Qualitative coding indicated that among the 13 exemplar messages, 11 (85%) had a theme or themes related to warning about adverse outcomes, with specific adverse events related to career (6/11, 55%) and impaired judgment (1/11, 9%) or nonspecified consequences (5/11, 45%). Of the 13 exemplar messages, 5 (39%) included recommendations, all with specific recommendations related to prioritizing long-term goals.

Examples given were related to online communities of practices, interprofessional learning (social comparison and learning), and telehealth improving trust between different disciplines, but also around having an online career coach (normative influence) and demonstrating online effectiveness of team performance and peer recognition, for example, by showcasing good news stories in health workforce capability.
