Assessing the Impact of Distance Traveled and Birth Volumes of Hospital Maternity Units on Newborn Outcomes: Population-Based Cohort Study

Assessing the Impact of Distance Traveled and Birth Volumes of Hospital Maternity Units on Newborn Outcomes: Population-Based Cohort Study

Lastly, the Certificates of Delivery Assistance provide detailed information about pregnancy, childbirth, and fetal presentation at delivery. A unique deidentification code is systematically used for all databases; as a result, linking these records enables the creation of a large birth cohort and establishing relevant traits and care pathways for mothers and newborns. The criteria for selecting the study cohort almost completely overlapped with those previously reported by our group [9].

Comparison of Spontaneous Pushing and Directed Pushing During the Second Stage of Labor Among Chinese Women Without Epidural Analgesia: Protocol for a Noninferior Feasibility Study

Comparison of Spontaneous Pushing and Directed Pushing During the Second Stage of Labor Among Chinese Women Without Epidural Analgesia: Protocol for a Noninferior Feasibility Study

To achieve physiological childbirth, it is acknowledged that sound maternity practice should aim primarily at giving every woman an opportunity to achieve normality if that is what women choose [1]. More recently, a clinical practice that supports a woman to follow their bodily desire to push during the second stage of labor has been evaluated in several clinical trials [2-5]. This practice is called “spontaneous pushing.”

Newborn Skin Maturity Medical Device Validation for Gestational Age Prediction: Clinical Trial

Newborn Skin Maturity Medical Device Validation for Gestational Age Prediction: Clinical Trial

Such a technological gap causes even more disparities than the difference between childbirth scenarios in fully equipped facilities and those ill-equipped with scarce technology. Moreover, it can impair the correct classification of infants as premature or growth restricted [31]. Whereas the underestimation of GA by 1.34 days on average in our results could reverberate in over care of a newborn with device implementation, neglecting a newborn at risk owing to the lack of GA data is still the worst.

Communication Intervention Using Digital Technology to Facilitate Informed Choices at Childbirth in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

In the field of reproductive health, the establishment of opportunities for continuous communication, and complementary to institutional care for prenatal care, postpartum care and reproductive planning are associated with better perinatal outcomes [33,34], increased confidence and satisfaction with childbirth [35], increased knowledge of obstetric interventions such as uterine fundal pressure, episiotomy, and labor augmentation with oxytocin, increased perception of being better prepared for the childbirth
