Virtual Reality–Applied Home-Visit Rehabilitation for Patients With Chronic Pain: Protocol for Single-Arm Pre-Post Comparison Study

Virtual Reality–Applied Home-Visit Rehabilitation for Patients With Chronic Pain: Protocol for Single-Arm Pre-Post Comparison Study

Rehabilitation has been shown to be effective in improving not only functional disabilities but also chronic pain [3-5]. However, the increase in exercise-induced pain and the fear of exercise due to pain are challenges that hinder effective rehabilitation [6]. Furthermore, as indicated by the fear-avoidance model of pain [7], the experience of chronic pain caused by physical disabilities and exercise-induced pain associated with rehabilitation can increase anxiety and fear in patients.

Cardiovascular Comorbidities in COVID-19: Comprehensive Analysis of Key Topics

Cardiovascular Comorbidities in COVID-19: Comprehensive Analysis of Key Topics

The knowledge gained from this study is invaluable for the development of more effective clinical practices and public health strategies. By identifying key comorbidities and their impact on COVID-19, we are better positioned to tailor treatments and interventions for patients affected by these conditions. Additionally, understanding the role of specific metabolic disorders, such as those affecting glucose and iron metabolism, opens up potential therapeutic targets and preventive measures.

The Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease Sentinel Surveillance System in South Korea: Retrospective Evaluation Study

The Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease Sentinel Surveillance System in South Korea: Retrospective Evaluation Study

The sentinel surveillance system provides information on community-level HFMD trends to support decision-making for effective public health measures. Surveillance system evaluation is emphasized by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in guidelines initially published in 1988 [9] and updated in 2001 [10]. It is important to evaluate the HFMD surveillance system as it provides data for key epidemiological findings, including seasonality and economic burden [2,4].

Patient Partnership Tools to Support Medication Safety in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Protocol for a Nonrandomized Stepped Wedge Clinical Trial

Patient Partnership Tools to Support Medication Safety in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Protocol for a Nonrandomized Stepped Wedge Clinical Trial

The primary objective of this study is to assess the impact of a set of patient partnership tools that redesign primary care encounters to encourage and empower patients to make more effective use of those encounters to improve medication safety. Two notable features of the tools are (1) to encourage patients to tell, not just ask, primary care professionals (PCPs) about their medication use at home; and (2) to empower PCPs with tools to nudge patients to become active partners.

Evaluating the Impact of a Cream Containing Horse Placental Extract on Eye Corner Wrinkles in Healthy Women: Single-Blind Comparative Study

Evaluating the Impact of a Cream Containing Horse Placental Extract on Eye Corner Wrinkles in Healthy Women: Single-Blind Comparative Study

LNC-EC appears effective in improving the appearance of eye-corner wrinkles, presumably by reducing their maximum width and number. No adverse events associated with LNC-EC application were observed during the study, indicating its safety for use.

Acceptability of a Hypothetical Reduction in Routinely Scheduled Clinic Visits Among Patients With History of a Localized Melanoma (MEL-SELF): Pilot Randomized Clinical Trial

Acceptability of a Hypothetical Reduction in Routinely Scheduled Clinic Visits Among Patients With History of a Localized Melanoma (MEL-SELF): Pilot Randomized Clinical Trial

These included sufficient time had passed without any subsequent new melanomas, if patients could access expert advice from their specialist via teledermatology and in-person checks could be arranged quickly, if the patient had confidence that patient-led surveillance using digital technology was effective for them personally (answers from control patients were hypothetical in nature, but intervention patients reported that after using the intervention, they were more confident that digital technology tools

Development and Economic Evaluation of a Patient-Centered Care Model for Children With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: Protocol for a Quasi-Experimental Study

Development and Economic Evaluation of a Patient-Centered Care Model for Children With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: Protocol for a Quasi-Experimental Study

Empowering patients through an effective health care delivery model has the potential to improve the cost-effectiveness of care, especially for people affected by long-term conditions [19]. Patient-centered care (PCC) increases adherence to disease management, reduces loss to follow-up in the health care system, and, in turn, reduces morbidity and improves quality of life (Qo L) for patients [17].

The Clinical Impact of Flash Glucose Monitoring—a Digital Health App and Smartwatch Technology in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes: Scoping Review

The Clinical Impact of Flash Glucose Monitoring—a Digital Health App and Smartwatch Technology in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes: Scoping Review

There is a great opportunity to influence health literacy, self-efficacy, and overall control of type 2 diabetes and its complications if these interventions can be delivered in a sustainable, cost-effective fashion. There are several limitations to the use of emerging technologies in the management of diabetes. From the patient and clinician perspective, there are usability and affordability limitations to much of the proprietary technology available [47].
