The Impact of Incentives on Data Collection for Online Surveys: Social Media Recruitment Study

The Impact of Incentives on Data Collection for Online Surveys: Social Media Recruitment Study

To address this gap, this study specifically examined how advertising a US $5 incentive, US $15 incentive, and no incentive to youth and young adults (15 to 24 years of age) on Instagram for completion of an online survey impacted various data collection outcomes. To determine the impact of incentive amount on the response rate, recruitment costs, data quality, and recruitment time, we ran three separate paid social media campaigns on Instagram, one for each incentive condition.

However, research investigating the various types of MFA incentives has been shown to have several limitations [17,26] because the effects of each incentive have mostly been explored separately [28-30]. Per Mc Kinsey & Company’s 2022 survey among Indonesian citizens [4], 87% of the respondents intended to continue using their personal training and fitness apps. The market analysis and demographics of this study apply only to MFA users in Indonesia.

Impact of Incentives on Physician Participation in Research Surveys: Randomized Experiment

Impact of Incentives on Physician Participation in Research Surveys: Randomized Experiment

To provide different incentive amounts, we created 5 identical Qualtrics surveys with informed consent at the start informing participants of the randomly assigned incentive amounts: US $0, $10, $20, $50, and $75. Email text and subject lines were identical, and only the incentive amount varied. Gift card payments were managed by Tango Rewards and integrated into the survey.

In addition, we provide a small incentive. Immediately after the physical examination, all participants receive the test results for both the mother and child and can track their progress over time at each visit. Test results include blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, and all anthropometric values. Results are explained in person and written on an information pamphlet. All participants who complete the baseline questionnaire receive a small gift that equates to approximately US $1.

However, the effectiveness of incentives may vary by incentive structure [13-20]. Incentive structures can be unconditional, granted regardless of survey participation, or conditional, awarded only upon survey completion [13].

Development and Testing of a Data Capture Device for Use With Clinical Incentive Spirometers: Testing and Usability Study

Development and Testing of a Data Capture Device for Use With Clinical Incentive Spirometers: Testing and Usability Study

Automated capture of spirometry data may improve the quality of research studies and ultimately determine the incentive spirometer’s use in improving lung function and minimizing postoperative complications. Incentive spirometers are simple plastic meters to measure inhalational breath flow and volume; they lack the ability to record data. Digital flowmeters can be used to replicate the incentive spirometer [18].

The platform automatically tracks doses and timing and sends intelligent reminders to create a unique feedback loop, which allows the developers to constantly optimize incentive or reminder messages to meet user needs and increase adherence. The Pillsy technology was developed to be a simple, inexpensive adjunct to standard treatment. Unlike some other technologies, such as the My Safe Rx system [23], the Pillsy system does not require codes or video calls for the patient to access their medication.

Effects of Mobile-Based Financial Incentive Interventions for Adults at Risk of Developing Hypertension: Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

Effects of Mobile-Based Financial Incentive Interventions for Adults at Risk of Developing Hypertension: Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

This structure of financial incentive is known as pay-for-performance and has been gaining popularity in recent years due to its success [17]. However, on a population level, even modest incentives for PA may not be feasible or sustainable long-term due to cost [18]. Thus, a more sustainable financial incentive model is needed for PA promotion. An innovative and sustainable solution could be a self-funded investment incentive (SFII).
