Exploring Molecular Genetics Research on Obesity in Malaysia: Protocol for a Scoping Review
Molecular genetic investigations into obesity are notably scarce despite the significant health burden posed by the conditions in this country. A scoping review revealed a marked surge in obesity research conducted in Malaysia from 2008 to 2017 in response to the unprecedented prevalence of overweight and obesity in the country. However, only 12.3% of studies used experimental methods to investigate potential biomarkers, with genetic studies receiving minimal attention [19].

The use of high-tech molecular technology for the rapid detection of pathogens in clinical specimens has gradually become the gold standard for clinical virological testing [9,10]. Furthermore, quantitative or qualitative test analysis is used as an important indicator for medical diagnosis, treatment tracking, risk assessment, and health care information.
Molecular techniques are an important tool for clinical testing; however, the cost of molecular test reagents is high.

Cytochrome P450 1B1 Overexpression in Cervical Cancers: Cross-sectional Study
These CYP1 B1 polymorphisms are believed to increase cancer risk through molecular mechanisms such as enhanced progesterone and estrogen receptor signaling, which is also known to affect chemotherapy response [15]. This particularly applies to some CYP1 B1 polymorphisms causing a weak response to anthracycline agents, while low polymorphisms were found to improve response to chemotherapeutic agents [33].

Pathogen-specific molecular testing permitted rapid (1) notification to state epidemiologists, (2) tracking of the virus so that health care resources could be managed effectively, and (3) evaluation of influenza diagnostics [23,24]. Today, with the threat of emerging pathogens such as Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (Co V), avian influenza, enterovirus (EV) D68, and Ebola virus, real-time surveillance programs are critical [25,26].
