Therefore, our screening process entailed administering 4 versions for Partner A (discussed in “Stratification” section), and 1 additional survey for Partner B. The label of Partner A was assigned to the first user in a dyad who completed our screening process. In addition to confirming eligibility criteria during screening, we also asked Partner A to provide the Prolific ID of their romantic partner so that we could add them to the allowed list for the Partner B version of the study.

Quality of Life in Patients and Their Spouses and Cohabitating Partners in the Year Following a Cancer Biopsy (the Couples Cope Study): Protocol for a Prospective Observational Study

Using a prospective observational study design and quantitative approaches that model actor-partner effects, we will examine predictors and trajectories of Qo L, individual well-being, and relationship quality and functioning among couples who undergo a cancer biopsy. Patients and their spouses or partners will be recruited prior to a breast or prostate biopsy and complete follow-up assessments for 9 months after the biopsy.

This study will also generate evidence for the feasibility of the introduction of FICare from day 1 while preterm babies are receiving intensive care.
