SMS text messaging–based interventions have demonstrated effectiveness in increasing adherence to ART among people living with HIV [24-27] and better treatment outcomes among women living with HIV during the peripartum period [28]. More recently, the role of SMS text message–based strategies in supporting Pr EP adherence has been investigated among men who have sex with men and transgender women in the United States [29,30].
