Effectiveness of a Virtual Reality Open-Air Bath Program in Reducing Loneliness and Improving Brain Function for Dementia Prevention in Older Adults: Protocol for a Prospective Randomized Crossover Study

This study aims to explore the preliminary effects of a VR-based open-air bath experience program on loneliness in older adults at the predementia stage. Given the tendency of this population to limit outdoor activities due to infectious disease outbreaks and other factors, a VR-simulated outdoor bath experience could be highly beneficial and may help alleviate depressive symptoms and feelings of loneliness.
