COVID-19–Related Racism and Mental Health Among Asian Americans: Integrative Review

The complexity of these multiple dimensions and domains of racism (eg, displays of racism [beliefs, words, or actions]; impacts of racism [emotional or physical harms]; and reach of racism [individual, family, community, or society]) presents challenges for defining and measuring constructs of racism and the true psychological impacts on victims.

Posttraumatic Growth Among Suicide-Loss Survivors: Protocol for an Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Posttraumatic Growth Among Suicide-Loss Survivors: Protocol for an Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This is, of course, not to say that PTG is always the result of trauma, but rather, psychological suffering allows the opportunity for a person to grow and for new meaning to flourish in the face of trauma. An inverted U-shaped curve best describes the relationship between the developments of PTG—both too much and too little suffering are detrimental to the development of PTG [12,13].

Interventions for Digital Addiction: Umbrella Review of Meta-Analyses

Interventions for Digital Addiction: Umbrella Review of Meta-Analyses

Owing to the magnitude of the impact of psychological disorders on digital addiction, for individuals, the prevention and treatment of digital addiction are mainly psychological and pharmacological [1]. Beute et al [16] report that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can play a role in treating adolescent internet addiction (IA). CBT and CBT-based psychotherapies are the psychotherapy most commonly used for digital addiction [17].

The Effects of Self-Monitoring Using a Smartwatch and Smartphone App on Stress Awareness, Self-Efficacy, and Well-Being–Related Outcomes in Police Officers: Longitudinal Mixed Design Study

For the measurement of the emotional, psychological and social well-being of participants, the 14-item Dutch version of the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) was administered [56]. The MHC-SF asks how often the respondent experienced a range of well-being–related feelings during the last month and is scored on a 6-point Likert scale that ranges from “never” to “daily.” Reliability was good (α=.92).

Exploring the Needs and Preferences of Users and Parents to Design a Mobile App to Deliver Mental Health Peer Support to Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes: Qualitative Study

Managing type 1 diabetes (T1 D) extends beyond physical health to include a significant psychological component [1]. This psychological aspect is often due to diabetes distress (DD), a state of emotional burden directly related to the demands of living with diabetes [2]. DD is influenced by various factors, including the complexity of diabetes management, social dynamics, and puberty-related changes (both physical and psychosocial) that occur during adolescence [3].

Stress Reduction in Perioperative Care: Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

Stress Reduction in Perioperative Care: Feasibility Randomized Controlled Trial

Psychological support and patient education have proven effective in reducing stress and anxiety in surgical settings [5,6]. Providing information about the surgical procedure is essential for both patients and caregivers, as it helps decrease anxiety levels and surgical complications [7,8]. Patient empowerment, where patients actively participate in managing their diseases, leads to better self-care management and improved outcomes in terms of satisfaction, cost, health status, and function [9,10].

Use of 4 Open-Ended Text Responses to Help Identify People at Risk of Gaming Disorder: Preregistered Development and Usability Study Using Natural Language Processing

This questionnaire is intended to detect depression in the initial psychological diagnosis. The PHQ-9 assesses the severity of depression using 9 items on a 4-point rating scale ranging from 0 (Not at all) to 3 (Nearly every day). The Polish version used in the study was created by the Mapi Research Institute [18] (for the Polish version, see Multimedia Appendix 2).

Identifying the Relative Importance of Factors Influencing Medication Compliance in General Patients Using Regularized Logistic Regression and LightGBM: Web-Based Survey Analysis

Identifying the Relative Importance of Factors Influencing Medication Compliance in General Patients Using Regularized Logistic Regression and LightGBM: Web-Based Survey Analysis

Medication adherence is measured using a psychological factor scale that assesses the positive attitude of the patient toward treatment, as well as medication, and a scale that calculates the amount of medication taken [5]. On the other hand, since medication adherence assumes that the patient is in agreement, medication compliance is simply a more appropriate indicator of the extent to which the patient is taking the medication correctly [6,7].

Psychological Factors That Contribute to the Use of Video Consultations in Health Care: Systematic Review

However, a lack of willingness when there are no physical or practical barriers infers psychological factors at play [7]. To effectively address these psychological hurdles, it is essential to comprehend the specific factors (eg, attitudes, beliefs, and emotions) that influence HCPs’ VC use. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no studies that have synthesized the psychological factors that influence HCPs’ use of VC.
