Exploring Web-Based Information and Resources That Support Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer to Resume Study and Work: Environmental Scan Study

Exploring Web-Based Information and Resources That Support Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer to Resume Study and Work: Environmental Scan Study

Therefore, this study aimed to determine the following: (1) What web-based resources exist for engaging with education or work after a cancer diagnosis that AYAs with cancer are likely to encounter when conducting a Google search? and (2) Of the identified resources, to what degree are they understandable, actionable, readable, easy to locate, evidence-based, co-designed with survivors of AYA cancer, and culturally inclusive?

Web-Based Scaffolds: The Feasibility of a Constructivist Approach to Oncology Fellow Learning

Web-Based Scaffolds: The Feasibility of a Constructivist Approach to Oncology Fellow Learning

Transcripts omitted personal identifiers, and interviewers never revealed participant identities to the rest of the study team. Participants received a US $10 electronic gift card. From July 2019 to December 2021, fellows made 60 updates (Table 1), ranging from new trials to changes in management; none were erroneous. SB made 9 edits for brevity. Number of updates to solid oncology scaffolds during the pilot period (July 2019 to December 2021).

Collaborative Challenges of Multi-Cohort Projects in Pharmacogenetics—Why Time Is Essential for Meaningful Collaborations

Collaborative Challenges of Multi-Cohort Projects in Pharmacogenetics—Why Time Is Essential for Meaningful Collaborations

Here, we use the Swiss project, PGX-link, as an exemplary case study to show the complexity of setting up a 2-year multi-cohort project—in our case, in the field of pharmacogenetics. This project is a feasibility study, focused on building an infrastructure that connects clinical and pharmacogenomics data among 3 cohorts: the Swiss HIV Cohort Study (SHCS) [3], the Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS) [4,5], and the Swiss Clinical Quality Management (SCQM) in rheumatic disease [6].

Creating and Implementing a Principal Investigator Tool Kit for Enhancing Accrual to Late Phase Clinical Trials: Development and Usability Study

Creating and Implementing a Principal Investigator Tool Kit for Enhancing Accrual to Late Phase Clinical Trials: Development and Usability Study

In the weeks to months leading up to study activation, a trial-specific Power Point slide deck is created that provides a succinct overview of the study, including the study rationale, patient population and inclusion or exclusion criteria, study schema, primary and secondary end points, expected accrual, and projected study length (Table 1).

Testing the Differential Impact of an Internet-Based Mental Health Intervention on Outcomes of Well-being and Psychological Distress During COVID-19: Uncontrolled Intervention Study

Testing the Differential Impact of an Internet-Based Mental Health Intervention on Outcomes of Well-being and Psychological Distress During COVID-19: Uncontrolled Intervention Study

Rather than using an intervention based on a clinical treatment approach (ACT in the case of the study by Trompetter et al [68]), our study aimed to show this differential impact of a universal, group-based, mental health intervention designed to promote mental health in the general nonclinical population. Finally, the study aimed to examine the effect of baseline differences in well-being and psychological distress on the effectiveness of the intervention.

Novel Assessments of Technical and Nontechnical Cardiac Surgery Quality: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

Novel Assessments of Technical and Nontechnical Cardiac Surgery Quality: Protocol for a Mixed Methods Study

The largest operative study of NOTSS conducted thus far involved 715 surgical procedures and 11,440 assessments [23]. Surgeons’ nontechnical skills were rated as good (score of 4) in 18.8% of responses, acceptable (score of 3) in 49.1%, marginal (score of 2) in 21.9%, and poor (score of 1) in 0.9%. In a video-based study including 82 cardiac surgeons, there was a 129% increased odds (after adjusting for technical skills) of higher patient safety scores with every 1-point increase in the NOTSS score [6].
