Investigating the Effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment in Necrotizing Soft Tissue Infection With Transcriptomics and Machine Learning (the HBOmic Study): Protocol for a Prospective Cohort Study With Data Validation

This paper presents a transcriptomic study protocol for examining host and pathogen interactions using a data-driven approach with unsupervised analysis. Our hypotheses are that genetic diversity accounts for the variation in outcomes that follow interactions between humans and the potentially life-threatening pathogens in NSTIs and that these interactions are modulated by HBO2 treatment. This is a prospective observational study.
