Most existing competency frameworks promote a tiered approach, where frontline workers with digital technologies have more specific training compared with those in management positions, who require a basic understanding of how the digital technologies work [18]. Given escalating demands for new competencies across various domains of public health, the challenge will be to holistically integrate these digital practices in existing curricula as opposed to simply attaching new courses.

Thus, preventive support for mental health problems is beneficial not only for workers’ mental health but also for their well-being and work performance.
Mindfulness and self-compassion have been of particular interest in providing psychological support to workers because of their potential positive effects on work-related outcomes [5].

Despite the risks associated with prescription opioid use, injured workers are frequently prescribed opioid pain medications at rates three times the national average [27,28] and almost one-third of injured workers continue to fill their prescriptions 90 days after their injury [29]. As many as 57% of accidental deaths due to opioid overdose occur following work injuries [30].

MOST will be used to pilot this study, to optimize, and evaluate the efficacy of the stress management and health behavior change intervention to improve workers’ stress and well-being. MOST is a 3-phase framework that aims to develop interventions that are effective, efficient, economical, and scalable [50].

Exposure to organic solvents, especially among workers with higher exposure than the general population, can produce neurotoxic effects, depending on the internal dose. Therefore, to efficiently protect the population from possible solvent toxicity, it is important to determine the air concentrations at which neurotoxicity does not occur.

The official statistics from the Italian Workers Compensations Authority (INAIL) reported a mean of 2500 workplace violence (WPV) cases per year determining a work injury among health care workers (HCWs) over the 2016-2020 period; of these, 75% were directed toward women [3]. Due to the high prevalence and the consequences on the affected HCWs, WPV against HCW is a public health concern [4,5].
